I’ve been vegan for almost 8 years now and have never looked back. I’m so glad I made the conscious decision to change my lifestyle for the better.

I began to get serious about training about two and a half years ago and found a real love for training when I started CrossFit a year and a half ago. I love being able to combine cardio, plyometric, gymnastic and weight training together and never get bored due to the variance in training, and also really enjoy group training.

When I started to get serious about training I also realised that I needed to get more serious about nutrition and began to realise the numerous benefits of a vegan diet as a result of my ethical decision to go vegan. I’ve certainly shown to myself, and those around me, that there are no disadvantages for vegans in gaining muscle, strength and conditioning as I have made all of m y training progress and gains since being vegan. I was selected by my head coach to compete and represent my CrossFit gym in a team competition last year, and felt amazing to be considered one of the top 3 females at my gym.

After meeting Simone last year I started training with MVS to further expand my love for heavy lifting and found it helped towards my CrossFit training as I was able to determine my training potential by knowing what my 1rep max was.

Earlier this year I competed in my first bodybuilding ‘figure’ competition and will be competing again later this year. I enjoy the process of always striving to build more muscle and improving my physique. I also love competing in a sport, such as bodybuilding and CrossFit, where veganism is generally considered detrimental and proving that that is a myth and if anything it is a benefit, not only for your own physical goals, whether it be strength and/or appearance, and your health, but also beneficial to the animals and the environment.
